The Twain gilet is so-called after the great American writer and creator of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. An adamant abolitionist and a champion of women’s rights, in 1906 he founded the Angel Fish and Aquarium Club for his surrogate granddaughters, writing them letters and inviting them to concerts and the theatre.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the one you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain 1835-1910
